"My weekly profits have doubled and my friends ask
me for business advice!"
Christiana Borah - 'Kichitor' Trust Group Member
My name is Christiana Boroh. I am thirty seven years old, a widow with three children. I have no formal education as my parents did not have the means to support me. My community is very poor and no bank would help us as we could not provide any security. We called our Trust Group Kitchitor (which means ‘Help’ in the Gonja language) because WildHearts was the answer to our prayers. I make a local soap called "Alata samina" made from palm oil. With a loan of £162 I was able to purchase barrels of oil and chemicals in bulk. Because of my lower costs and increased stock my customer base has expanded significantly and my profits have leapt from £11 a week to £22 a week. I plan to take a much bigger loan in my next cycle so I can further grow my business. My friends now ask me for business advice and I am so proud of myself. I am determined to work especially hard to ensure that all my children have a better chance in life than I had… I now have hopes in my heart that I never dreamt possible. God Bless you WildHearts.
Four Months Later…
My business has taken off and, in turn, the quality of life for my family has improved dramatically. I can now send my three children to school and provide them with three square meals a day. Not only have my profits doubled but they have remained constant since I took out my WildHearts loan. As a result I am saving £4 each week! I could not have achieved this without the business training I received in my WildHearts Trust Group.
I now know how to determine my profits and the improvement in my customer service has contributed hugely to the success in my business. I cannot believe how much I have changed in only four months. I hope to acquire a piece of land to build a vocational training school so I can train young people in soap making, especially those who have no formal education.
