My name is Hawa Seidu. My husband is a farmer and I have four children, three girls and a boy. In my day, a girl's education was not seen as important and so I never went to school. Despite my lack of formal education, I taught myself a trade and now have a fabric dyeing business. My first loan was for £107. I used it to purchase much needed dyes, chemicals and fabric to expand my business. I was so scared at first but the support of members of my trust group gave me the confidence to apply for a loan. Before I was making a profit of £11 a week but with the investment from WildHearts I have already managed to boost my profits to £16 a week! I am looking forward to repaying my loan so that WildHearts can help other people in my community. I am determined to give all my children the chances I did not have and so my daughters, as well as my son, are in school. My daughters say they want to be business women like me. I want to be the best role model I can for them.

Four Months Later…
Already I have repaid my first WildHearts loan and am taking out a second loan of a similar size. This is a result of the business diversification and marketing assessment training I received in my WildHearts Trust Group . This inspired me to add “wax print” fabrics to my range and so sell more to the same customers . The growth in my business has enabled me to take care of my children’s education and provide better quality food for the family. My financial contribution to the household income has also gained me a lot of respect from my husband and has reduced petty squabbling over money matters. WildHearts training on health insurance taught me to register my family. Now I will not need to pay crippling medical bills from my working capital should anyone in my family fall sick.
