"I didn't think anyone would ever give me the chance to earn a living. I am so grateful to WildHearts for believing in me."  Hawa Kade-Wura.

I had polio as a child and have spent my whole life being unable to walk. It was impossible for me to find work.  I had no friends or education so I had to resort to begging to survive. I felt like a huge burden on my community and was very ashamed. No-one could help me because they were all struggling to support their own families. All I wanted was to be self-sufficient and to be able to hold my head up high.

Then WildHearts invited me to join the Trust Bank in my village. I couldn’t believe that a disabled person like me could access a loan. I had noticed that no-one in my local market was selling chilli powder or peanut butter. I used my WildHearts loan to buy these items, plus some other spices, in bulk with cash. At first I was scared but the business advice and support I got in my WildHearts Trust Bank gave me the confidence I needed to carry on.

Now my market stall is very busy. The business tips and customer service advice I get from WildHearts help me manage it really well. Recently I have even seen my weekly profits double! I can take care of myself now and am supporting two of my orphaned relatives through school. With the steady increase in income from my business I am confident I will be able to keep paying their school fees. I have also been able to use part of my profits to register with the local Health Insurance scheme so I no longer have to worry about paying for hospital bills. I love being amongst all the other market traders. They are my friends and even ask for me business advice. I am so grateful to WildHearts for believing in me and giving me this chance to make a life for myself.
